I wanted to see what a grayed sky would look like so I fixed it in photoshop. I definitely gives the painting a different mood and I'm kind of liking it.

...one is a beautiful sunny fall day ... the other is a fall day with impending rain... both are good !

Personally I prefer the blue, too. That is also typical of a crisp fall day in Maie (where I am from) .

Thanks for all of your comments! I'm not sure wish one I prefer! I like the original blue sky because it reminds me of a crisp fall day, but the gray is probably better for a painting and creates a more interesting feel. I'll just paint another version and change the trees a little. I'm also going to do something different with the "road" that goes off in the background. I showed it to my mother and she thought it was the river. "No, Mom, it's a road" At the end there is some dried grass and a small opening where you travel back to the rest of it. I guess it didn't work. :)

I like the blue sky. I grew up in Utah where the fall skies are often that saphire blue against the golden aspens. The greyed sky feels more like fall here in CA where the skies and clouds are a little shy. The bright sky says cool crisp morning with one final curtain call before winter. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ! Which do you like best?

I like the blue sky. It makes it feel like a crisp clear autumn morning. My favorite.

Yes the grey version compliments your beautiful trees so much better it pushes them forward and has created a stronger focal point for the tree on the left. Super painting Jennifer
