George, thank you so much for this awesome information. :)))

I also felt such peace and kindness when I looked at Bill's website. His work is magnificent and what a great legend he is in his own right.  Indeed he is a gentle giant...

I am overwhelmed that you cared to share this sacred information with me.  I feel honoured and privelidged.  It is indeed very useful.  I will spend some more time reading and digesting this information.

There was one painting in particular that caught my eye, and made me think awhile. It's his paint box snake bit kit.  I wander if those bottles contained ink or watersoluble paint, or do you think Bill painted those labelled bottles just for fun??

Here is the link, if you would like to have a look..

I am VERY appreciative of this information.  Thank you kindly my dear friend...

Dear Patricia, I am glad to let you know about how I match colors.

Go to the bellow site and open it http://www.guidetooilpainting.com/colorMatch.html

This is one of the best sites about painting before I found RR website. You will find the title; Bill Martin’s guide to oil painting than  Basic information - Matching colors and if you browse down after reading the first information you will reach to this remark; This is How to Match Any Color. Than the three tips;

We have only to answer these three questions to match any color we see.

1. WHAT COLOR IS IT FROM THE COLOR WHEEL? (Its spectrum color)

2. HOW INTENSE IS IT? (How much of its complement does it contain? More complement means less intense.)

3. WHAT VALUE IS IT? How light or dark is it?

This is How it Works; here you will learn how to match colors by few examples.

After that it is only up to you how to get in your future works the right colors.................Hope this is useful, George

George, all of these criteria were most certainly met.  You did an excellent job with this painting.   I love your unique style.  If you care to share, would you please tell me more about the way you interpret colour.  I would be most interested to know... :))
