I can totally understand, Thomas!

Thanks Christine for your thoughts! I find it amazing how perception changes sometimes. With my own paintings it more often into the other direction. I suddenly see my flaws and dislike what i was proud of before. Here i am with you. I didn't like this at first but with some distance and awareness where my painting stands, i find that i did relatively well on it.

Glancing at this a second time...even more beautiful...I love it! Your brushwork and varying color is so appealing. It just keeps the eye moving! Awesome : )

Thank you, Rose, Jessica and Olivia!
In agreement with your comments I am rather satisfied with the upper half of the painting. Also the thumnail look of it. The lower part is a good reminder what to work on.
BTW i never rework a plein air painting. Rework is the greatest killer of progress. Only carefully rethink what i need to do better next time or in general.

love your brushwork mountains and trees

I've been reading the interesting discussion here.  I like the fresh vibrancy of the reds in the field; the field seems to be quite close to us & then there is a row of bushes, mountains further back etc, giving the feel of distance & depth.
