What a nice portrait Lyndon and beautiful colors.
Happy for you! Excelent start. You are very good and keep on doing well. Waiting to see more from you.
Li, thank you for your lovely comments on this and the other paintings.
I consider it high praise coming from you, especially!
I showed this painting to my former teacher who said, "I had done remarkably well considering the photo I used had very flat lighting, was almost full front on and the subject was smiling". He did make a couple of technical suggestions which I am currently applying to the painting.
This only the second portrait I have painted and I'm working on another at the moment, so I still have heaps to learn about portraiture painting.
Lydon, I like his expression. And his eyes. Very well done. People say try not let your model open his mounth as it is more difficult to paint inside the mounth , such as teeth and dark hole of the mouth. It will save a lot of your trouble.
Hi Lyndon,
Loved this portrait 'Graham' so hard to do portraits especially if you are doing one for somebody and you need to get it RIGHT. I know I stress out if I do portraits, rather do still life or landscapes. However, I think you have done a splendid job and his eyes look right at you....Cheers.
