I love the juxtaposition of warm reds, ochres and yellows feeding into the cool shadow. i feel I can touch your tree and feel the cool of the snow. I really struggled with representing the foreground snow and I think you have captured it so well.

Thats darn good. It has depth colour direction and aesthetics. And I thought a brush was just a palette knife with bristles! Follow the yellow brick road.

Natasha, thanks so much for your comments. As an artist I believe one is always growing, and is never too good or too old to learn. I've just discovered Richard and feel he has so much to offer. Critquing my work and that of others is not my strong area and I'm sure this workshop will teach me something. It is not a competition, and everyone, whatever their skill level can benifit from this workshop. If I learn only one thing it's more than I knew yesterday.

I'm not sure if I'm repling in the right spot and I hope you recieve this.

I'd also like to thank everyone who has commented and liked my work...I really do appreciate it

Your painting is so incredible that I really think it's unfair that you're in this workshop! ;-)  Your colors sing and I love the play of warm and cool.  I noticed that you had done another similar painting, but I prefer this one more because the vibrant violets in the shadows are so interesting.

I love the saturated colour contrasted with the snow

I love how the colours dance around this painting and give you a sense of wind blowing through the tree
