Thanks Diane for your comments. It's very enlightening. You really have the eyes of an artist. I also noticed the ground lines after finishing it. It appears a depression and lower than the water in the puddle. Thanks a lot!

Love love the bush and all the beautiful lighting The lighting is great however Oh dear here I go again with a critique. I do hope you don't mind. The water in the puddles looks as though it is going up and down little rises and falls and as we know water is always level. Needs some straight lines across the whole path  and within the puddles to level the water. The area of pale golden light almost has a wave look about it.

Now I do wish you would critique one of my paintings and tell it how you see it as this is how we learn. From fellow artists:):)

Thanks Peter for the appreciation. That's right, the paint still smells fresh because I just finished it.

Thanks, Roena! I just did it a few hours back. It took me about two straight hours to complete this.

I really enjoyed this painting. The more I looked the more I saw that you had put into it. I liked the glow at the end of the path, in the clearing, and you carried that same color into some bushes on the left at the edge of the clearing. The water has nice reflections. The foreground trees have that rugged bark look. There are lots of different bushes with different colors. Nice job--well done. Ro
