50x40 cm oil on board.
This was painted using a Zorn palette of yellow ochre, burnt sienna and ultramarine blue. I found it more difficult than other paintings I have used with this palette but an interesting exercise to compare against the full palette gondola I did a few weeks ago..

I dont know if this was part of the Monet challenge? When painting a Monet you have to let yourself go.  He used short strokes and never tried to correct a stroke. He laid down a stroke and left it building layers upon layers correcting values along the way. Lay down a stroke, leave it. Lay down another stroke, leave it. You will end up with strong subtle values.

I really like your colors in this David!  Nice work, and love your sky!  Think perhaps the buildings could be softened a bit, would push them more into the background.  Good work!

What a challenge that must have been. I'm like the color harmony. Well done, David.
