Thank you Bob.  I see what you are saying - unfortunately I am a terrible photographer and this image washes out all of the yellow ochre, and it looks much cooler than it actually is.  Maybe I'll photograph it again.  I wasn't very careful as I see these 3 mostly as an exercise and am trying to apply this technique to some paintings based on my own photos.

Good job Casey, nice expressive brushwork and airiel perspective is working very well.  I would have made the foreground rock a bit warmer, your highlights are white which is actually a cold colour, try some more yellow in the mix. Overall a very nice painting, it jumps out of the pack.  Well done, Bob
