I wanted to try something different as well as using a different medium. I am happy with the way the character of this rooster comes out in a dramatic black and white charcoal sketch. I put a soft oil glaze on the background then applied a fixative to protect the charcoal. To finish it off I framed it in a contemporary black drop-in frame.
