Original Plein Air study by Jeri McDonald near I-5 in Los Banos where I board my horses. I often set up there and then ride my horses after painting the beautiful views of the hills and landscape around the stables. The sun was so bright by the time I got to the clouds, I had to stop so they are not finished. I learn so much about color painting outside. It is so valuable to in studio painting.

Wow...good thing I left the sky alone! It had tons of clouds but couldn't finish as I mentioned above. Thanks all.

Nice loose study Jeri. I like the colors and brushwork, your sky in particular!

Hey thanks Jon, this is actually two Palm trees. One is behind a bit on the left. It was hard to show them as 2 separate trees but I have learned only to paint shapes and this is how they looked to me that day. The highlight on the front tree where it is a browner area is the palm frones that die off that were originally the top green frones.

Nice Jeri, the tree is unusual
