Hi Peni, I visited your blog and website and enjoyed looking at your work very much. Among the portraits this one is my favorite: very beautiful portrait, successful color matching, face expression is well rendered... Anna

I love the composition in this painting! I really like to see artists step outside the square of tradition when it comes to portraits. It allows so much more of the sitter's personality to shine through.
Lovely painting of a lovely lady! :-)) Gail

HI Peni, What a lovely portrait and rally get a glimpse of her personality it seems. Very lovely but do not understand the title?
I am so glad you put the media and the size of the work -the size helps somehow to get a different sense of it and I am interested in the media for studying- what is achievable and what I could be working toward. I love doing portraits though a total beginner - am about to load my latest effort.
any how well done - really inspiring.

Peni, this is lovely. Great unusual pose. It just grags your attention. // I keep looking at her jaw and chin. Looking at a monitor is not like looking at the real thing so you will have to judge. Years ago I was told that if you put a greenish color along the edge of the jaw or chin it would make it appear to turn and go under. Maybe it is because it gives a slight shadow look to it, I am not sure. You have a color along the chin and it does look like it turns some, but the jaw has no color so to me it does not turn. Again, looking at the monitor is not the original. // I spent some time trying to load a photo of our daughter and son in law for you to consider for a portrait. I was trying to send something at your request for your studies. No clue what happened, but it did not go. I will try here, and if you like it and need a better copy I will send that. Ro
