Well that is perfect. I've been a little unsure of this ones clear meaning but it I think it means bringing life to a dead place. It also marks the beginning of my acrylic painting so if I've managed to tap into some collective unconscious thingamijig then "a new beginning" couldn't be more accurate. Thanks Anna, you've lit a spark for me.

Very beautiful painting, full of emotions! The small hanging flowers are as a "Martenitzi":

Every year, on the 1st of March all Bulgarians celebrate the coming spring by giving each other Мартеници (Mar-te-ni-tzi) or small red and white pieces of thread. The custom is to where the gift until you see the first White Stork for the year, when you're supposed to hand it on the blossoming branches of a fruit-bearing tree.

There are various theories and suggestions (even several legends, involving real historical figures) about the symbolism of these two particular colors - red & white, from which Martenitsa are made. An obvious explanation and perhaps a common belief people share, is that "red" stands for "life/birth" and "white" denotes "anew/on clear grounds". Combined together, they mean "newborn", "rebirth", "a new beginning"; a celebration of Life and Survival. Another popular explanation is that white stands for wisdom and red for good health, which means that anyone giving you a Martenitsa is wishing you both throughout the new year.

The movement of the descendent light is perfect...Very weel done!! The detail of the hanging flowers invite us to dream of something mystic like celtic woods...elfs and faries could apear suddenly!

This painting is so much like your others in style and brilliant color yet so completely different.  I feel very inspired by it.  I can see it in my minds eye a very large painting over someones fireplace in a great big beautiful home.

Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much everyone. Not sure what inspired it. I was learning a misty forest technique and felt that something should be present in the beam of light. With so many dead trees I thought the perfect contrast would be a small existence of life.
