Hi Nancy,I'm glad to be back painting, learning and hopefully getting better. Thank you for your nice words. (: I found myself thinking a lot about docks this month. I am sadly landlocked, so this challenge was fun to envision water and boats. And, you are right! My boat does look like it's partly under the dock. I think i extended the legs of the pier too far. I see another boat in the next challenge - anchors away!

Gambetta,  It is so nice to see you back in the workshop.  Your smiling face has been missed.  Thank you for your kind comment on mine.  This one was a real challenge for all of us I think.  I love the softness of your painting and the way you handled the background as it fades away.  One observation is that It seems as if the boat is floating under the pier instead of in front of it.  I don't know if that matters.  Great job on the pier and on those background boats.  Again, so glad you are back.

Thank you for your words, Ningning! I had missed the workshop. Seeing how others approached the art project and getting feedback from friends really helps to improve (: I will take a look at Richard's instruction and maybe add more details to the boat

Gambetta, I am so happy that you came back to join us .  About this painting, you simplified and softened everything in it. The message pasted peacefully. One observation,On the left corner there are some reflection which affact the colour and light effect of the painting. I found a place where I can take photo with minimum reflection. On the workshop page , Richard has an instruction about how to take photo. It is very practical.
