Thanks George for the image.  After I posted the question I happen to think (duah), about Google images.  I spent about 30 min looking at images and reading.  This is the only man made structure that can be seen from outer space!  What an exciting experience you must have had.

Hi Roena, You can see the wall disappearing into the distance over the top of the mountain range.

Wow, how supper.  And I only got to see a few bricks!  LOL

Do you have a photo showing it down the way.....how wide it is and it going for miles and miles?  No wonder you are really into this era..........I mean, you have gone there.  Very cool.  (green with envy....me  lol)

Visiting the great wall

That was interesting as well. Many years ago, we went to a (1 of 3 we went to) World's Fair.....dont remember which one now.  We stood in line for an hour or more to go see some bricks taken from the Great Wall of China.  I learned many things in that exhibition.  The only thing I really remember was a picture showing the wall being not only tall, but very wide.  It was used like a highway to transport horses (armies) across the rugged land.  I see you are enjoying your history.  big smile

The warrior on the painting is a famous Chinese General Guan Gong

Nice video George.  I really did like the large guy in white with the strong white horse.  A Samari?  (spelling)

Now that is my kind of painting.  It is normal for me to spend a month or 2 on one of my Flemish paintings, so I can relate very well.  I think "time" produces master pieces (at least the ones like the old masters.  lol)  I can clearly see the amount of time this took........it shows well.  Lovely!
