There is a number of Henry Moore plaster sculptures at the Toronto Art Gallery I've had the good fortune to have visited them a number of times, they even where letting you touch them back then. They are amazing and I wanted to just crawl up and be held by them like a child in a mother's arms.

Denise, four! (Groan!) I'm such a slacker..

 

Li, good point! That part was so dark in the photo that there wasn't any detail and I forgot to add my own. I also realized after posting it, that I had darkened several areas of the tree branches and this eliminated the cast shadows and I forgot to go back in and put them back. :-(  Oh well.

Hello Delores, this reminds of Henry Moore sculptures. I love to touch trees and this looks like a very tactile shapely one. I don't think that has been mentioned on any other paintings to date. This is also a very good notan painting well done.

I wanted to say I'm one of those overachievers you mentioned I just posted my forth, don't tell anyone but I'm trying for 'The chance to win an original painting by Richard Robinson. (that's me).'

I want to learn also how to work again from photos, I've been avoiding working from them for the last ten years I think I'm ready to tackle them again but my issue with them is that I copy feverishly and I'm looking for uniqueness. Always learning and trying new stuff so it's a continual challenge and this has been amazing to see how everyone has approach the same photo. Simply amazing! Your painting is also very unique.

Finally I meet a beginner as I( I have only painted 20 pieces up to date). I think you did a wondful job in terms of them, composition, color harmony, light and contrast.  I like the way you paint the twiggs, free and natually balanced, graceful. The only thing you might give a secound thought is the relationship between the fulling trunk and the tree(the center of the interest). The value of the fulling trunk is good but lack of little bit detail, as the brunches next to it have a lot of detail. Anyway, this is a nice painting, congradulations!
