"Quiet Solitude" Although this view is directly from the main road and opposite the camping ground at Lake Benmore there was virtually no traffic passing on the day I was there. The quiet, calm scene, the majestic mountains and the touch of mystery on the left in the little headland - what is really there? - all added to the quiet beauty of the day.

This is "Quiet Solitude" from my South Island journeys this year. At Lake Benmore the day was quiet, barely any passing traffic, the majesty of the mountains, the winter bare trees and the touch of mystery on the left peninsular...what is really there? These all gave me 'Quiet Solitude"
