Oil, Flemish Technique, 18 x 24 linen gallery wrapped canvas.
This is the 3rd layer called the doodvert or dead or gray layer (no color). I did not do this one completely correct as I just could not bring myself to repaint all those lines again in gray, then again in the color layer. My bad! LOL

This is the layer I just don't get! Why would the 'experts' paint the umber layer, then paint a dead layer of the the top!?
I've seen it before, and Ijust shake my head!
Shows I've got a lot to learn!
... They still look good!
