Original Oil Painting by Jeri McDonald. Lake Joallan is a tiny little private lake a 5 minute walk from where I live in Firebaugh. It sometimes has the most beautiful effects of light from the sun here on it. The light on the eucalyptus trees and the darks surrounding the house made it light up which inspired me to paint it. There just happened to be a lot of birds and ducks that day so I decided to paint them as well from my photo. I don't think they distract from the house. 9x12 canvas.

Very pretty. Again I really am enjoying your colors.
Hey thanks Thomas. Not sure what you are saying regarding horizontal position of the focal area. Some suggest that a 1/3 - 2/3 rule to divide the pictorial space. I think the fence is above the center and closer to the 1/3 area and at eye level leaving enough area at the bottom of the space to put in the lake which I wanted to have as my contrast to the brighter top half. I do appreciate your feedback and ideas. Thanks again Thomas. Let me know if what I said makes sense or?
LOVELY!
