Hi, Donna - well charcoal is lovely - and I expect you find it congenial. I took a year off painting to try and work on drawing! It's a whole ball game - forums, DVDs, books, teachers, fundamentals, etc. etc.... ...I thought Bert Dodson's book "Keys to drawing" was a very good overview. You've got a lovely sense of light in thae cat drawing!
Good on you for drawing, Donna!
Donna, this cat is certainly telling its sad story through her eyes. You have certainly captured her love and contentment she's beautiful. I don't think you need any help in portraying animals, you've already mastered it!!
I keep striving to get better at animals . If anyone can recommend a good or site to help me out I would really appreciate it.
Mine do not ... just a quick in and out. However this particular cat was found giving birth over a year ago to five kittens in sub zero weather. They were saved by kind people and one of my friends kept three of them. This is the mother Kaprice and she was named for the restaurant where she was found outside in the snow and ice. I felt her eyes still held all the pain and suffering she had endured. I did one of her kittens which I have posted here called Maria and one to go which will be Rosa. I have gifted all three sketches to my friend .
Do cats escape and go outside when the temperatures are soooooo low?
