This painting is based on a photograph submitted to the website; paintmyphoto.ning.com by Damacles on October 6, 2010. He called it Streaming Koi. The link to the original photograph is http://paintmyphoto.ning.com/photo/streaming-koi. I thank Damacles for the use of his photograph.
Description
This painting is of a group of koi, swimming through a pond in an almost double file parade, with a common objective. The colors were very strong, which caught my attention. I tried to capture their colors using artist quality SOHO acrylic paints on 15x13 inch gessoed fiberboard panel.
The painting was finished with several coats of Liquitex gloss medium/varnish.
