Your 'mistake' anchors the kingfisher beautifully and stops it from being left hanging in the middle of nowhere.  Very nice.

It's a lovely painting and your brown rushes look really good. They seem to balance the Kingfisher very nicely.

I really enjoyed this workshop, thank you Richard.  Two things happened, first I experimented with watercolour masking fluid to mask out the kingfisher and the tree trunk, it worked! Secondly I inadvertently pushed a brush loaded with brown paint into the middle of the canvas, quelle horreur! Decided to make use of it and not try to remove it. I like the New Zealand name for this bird.
