30 cm x 20 cm, oil, plein air

The soil is extremly dry with high risks of forest fires and every gust of wind brings some dirt onto the canvas, on top of mine.

Thanks Aurelia. I'm afraid i only have the old book without DVD. I am constantly looking for painting DVDs, thanks for your hints.
You are right, absolutely about the artistic freedom. Just when i go outside to study landscape colors it might not be the best way to improve to spend too much time on the icing extras.

You did a nice job with your brushstrokes and all the broken colour in the gravel road.  It seems the tractor is coming on at a massive speed looking at the dust behind it!  I also have Richard Schmid's book, but still the old one.  Do you have his latest book on Alla Prima 2?  He has nice DVD's too painting the landscape and one painting the portrait.  I bought Daniel Gerhartz latest DVD "The beginning of Autumn" and his book "Not far from Home" the other day.  He is one of my favorites.  You must check out his use of colour.  Awesome!  I love making up stuff too :((.  But aren't' artist suppose to have an imagination?

Aurelia, of course the tractor wasn't there and i invented it.
Last night i started to read Richard Schmid's book on Alla Prima.
It reminded me that I need to stick to painting what i see and not more thinking what i see might not be enough.
Yes, i am still alive ;-)
