This is a view of lake Iseo in northern Italy with sun and dramatic clouds. I painted it from a reference photo soon after my return from there. It's in oil on 16x12in, 40x30cm canvas. Comments and critiques welcome.

I like the bold brusstrokes and the colored greys
To me the for-ground and background needs a little more distinction. Something to give depth to the painting.
Idunno if this would help but from what I have seen there seems to be a constant 5 value zones to a composition. The sky being the lightest, ground, far background,immediate/middle background, forground.. idunno if this helps
It seems that the foreground and background are distinct enough. Unless its the camera I would definately revisit the values of these planes. But I really like the composition.
