 Jon, thanks for the input, I see how that would lead your eye out of this little painting.  Especially important for a Southwest painting, where our skies are so big and appear endless (one of the main reasons I love it here in Las Cruces, NM)!

Sharon, no this is a watercolor.  I always painted in oil before (and large), I always say my watercolors look like oils!...crazy huh?   I'm going to take a 6 week class with Marie Siegrist, starting in March, perhaps then my painting will look more like watercolors?!

Excellent texture!!! - would it be an idea to take a tree out the 'barrier' to leave a space for the eye to continue through?!?
