amazing to think this is only a second attempt at a landscape in oil! WOW! very believable greens and I love the texture of the tree bark in the foreground.

love your shadows and the way you composed this painting . I am trying to do trees at the beach side. trees are not one of my good points any clues to helping with the way trees give more pop ?

Hi Zibeth, chose this one to comment on since it's your best in my opinion. It seems so far ahead of your other images I had to check just now if I was still looking at yours. Helps having good photography doesn't it? Everything's working right in this. Couple of little things you could tweak to make it flow better like softening and simplifying the path shadows in the foreground and pushing the background further away with atmospheric perspective because the painting is really about the big tree and the path.

LOVE the composition and the rich colour and infused light coming through the tree. Beautiful organic shapes, lines and textures you've made. Great warm/cool light/dark contrasts too.

You're on your way buddy - just keep up the good work and keep challenging yourself! Would love to see you do a series of painting on just this scene - see how far you can push yourself.

All the best,
Richard
