Manaia paint lesson

Acrylic on Mixed Media paper. I feel I have my values wrong in a few spots here but this was a good exercise for me. I'm so tempted to try oils because by the time I was done mixing the colors along with the video my acrylics were drying. Any tips from other "acrylic-ers" as to how they modify their approach when following Richard's videos?
