Thanks Jim! I noticed that you are in Salt Lake City...quite a long way from Invermere (Brisco), BC. The painting is of Mount Nelson which dominates the landscape over Invermere.

I am a huge fan of our "Group of Seven" painters from Canada. I am desperately trying to simplify my paintings, yet still capture the light and colour which is important to me. I use a very simple palette, usually three or four primary colours and white. To achieve the rich colours I like to mix my paint on the palette, cleaning my brush while I go. I tend to paint with thick strokes.
