Mountain river

I went on a workshop with South Africa artist Peter Hall, who I really admire. I started a painting from a reference and didn't like it but when I started scraping it back and suddenly saw this scene in my mind. I still want to work on the water, but for now this is it.

If the water is running quickly then one would assume that it is deep, but in my mind it isn't that deep... so now I have to work out some way of making it look fairly shallow. I wish a had a picture to work with it would make it a lot easier :o)

Comment by Caryl Park on April 20, 2013 at 7:32: Mario if you mean palette knife?.... yes very much so. The original painting was guite thick, so when I scraped it off, I simply put it straight back on again which made these really neat rocks.
