Original Oil Painting by Jeri McDonald, 11x14 oil primed panel. Another attempt to create the rolling hills of scrub oaks here in the Central Valley of California. I combined my oak tree plein air study with a photo of a small ranch house. It is a bit busy for my taste but it's really fun putting together a larger composition into a painting from a small study.

Balancing all those greens was a huge challenge. Probably not going to paint them much again. I love Kevin Macpherson's use of green in many of his paintings. He really pulls it off without them overpowering. I was trying to give the feel of a spring day which is very very green around the valley here this time of year.
