Thank you so much Ann.
I just will say, BEAUTIFUL BRUSHWORK !
No.......I don't mind Silvana. :)
Thank you so much Shelly and I do believe you are right. I will heed your advice. I love getting feedback so thanks again!
Just used that outcast apple in an apple crumble... hope you don't mind...!!!! :) !!
Susan this is a wonderful piece. Your shapes are strong and the apples make my mouth water. Since you are looking down on your still life, I wouldn't darken the table at the top. I would however re place your signature; it's right in the middle of the path of light and it's on the same diagonal as the apples and cup, so I think it would look better on the horizontal on one side or the other. Yeah, it's picky, but my eye goes to that really quickly. Great job.
Thank you SOOO Much Justin. I really appreciate your thoughts and advice and yes I will give that a try. Great idea and it's always good to get someone else's eyes as well. :)
I'm really enjoying these Susan! I love how gestural your brush work is, and they're great color studies. I like as well how you varied the hues of each apple a bit, that was a nice touch. I might suggest (for the next one) a very slight darkening of the ground/table surface in the upper 1/4 of the painting. I think it might help the surface to feel like its going back in space a bit more. Just a thought, but really great piece regardless!
