Gee thanks Dorian, I'm trying? Think I am going to try this in pastels, I'm better at drawing (I think) than painting!
Hi again Candi. After your so kind comment, I had to go back and refresh my memory about yours. I really love it with its looseness which makes it so fresh and alive. I really think Richard should be oh, so happy with all of the paintings this month. I had a hard time not "liking" any of them. I still follow Richard because I learn so much from him. This month I just happened to stumble on a photo with a row of gondolas and kept painting. I wish I had the time to do that every month. Anyway, I love your painting. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Nancy! This has been a good learning experience for me! I tried to follow Richard, but love how lots of other artists did their own variations! Maybe a few more following Richard, and then I'll vary a bit too!
Thanks Janet! I'll have to look at my painting again, dark's darker or lights lighter?! Took this photo about 10 times, my greens aren't really showing true, they are subtle, but there. Anyway, I did change it again after I submitted it! Took Michael Severin's suggestion to brighten the red of the bow (don't think that is spelled right?!), but didn't resubmit it.
Really appreciate your input!!!
Background nice! Maybe darks need to be darker? Drawing good though. Lovely.
Thanks Laura! I listened to Michael's critique and brightened up the bow of the boat...but just leaving this one up.
Great job on this one, Candi!
Thanks Lori and Silvana!!! There are so many really great artist's on this site, know I'm going to learn a lot! Can't wait to see all the gondola paintings together on the Workshop page!
