Oil on MDF, 9 x 12

I took some artists license and made this first try with an Aegean flavor. I would love to hear C&C's.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments :)  Diane, you are right about the sky gaps.... too light and they stick out a bit.  Will have to keep that in mind for the final painting.  I think too the water is too blue.... needs more variegation of color.  Sky too.

Hehe Diane, I was about to say the same thing, it reminds me of the Mediterranean rather than the tropics.

Really nice!

Yes certainly very much leaning to the Aegean look than down here in the Pacific. You are very clever. The colours and brush work are fresh making it look a neat place to be:).

Just one tiny point that I have herd Richard often make is the colour of the sky between the leaves and branches of trees would be a few shades darker than that of the main body of the sky

Yes - you found the olive tree. I really like the brushwork here. It has a nice, fresh look. A great painting.

I like your light and friendly brush strokes. The colors are warm and inviting , The cool purple next to the warm sand colors are nice.
