There is another way to make it more interesting. If I were you, I would write down what I should improve. And then I would looking for one photo I took which has the similar theme and create a new one . Keep in minde what should what should not. Then I would get a new painting of mine with the know-how I learned from this workshop. How about that? People are different. I found that if I have to paint something again I won't be enthusiastic as when I do it first time. I have to discipline myself. However you do I wish you a good luck. Li

Well, since I took on this workshop I decided to finish it "beyond the wire"...that is, after it closed. I thought it was important to me to say 'I finished it in record time!!'.. (less than 3 weeks is a big deal for me!) So, I just downloaded my current reconstruction. I kinda wanted to start all over and add accordingly. Let me know what YOU think!

You are so right, composition is very important. If our design have fatal diffects, no mater however well we paint, the viewer would feel something unconfirtable. This workshop I copied Richard's design. But you did a very creative job with your own composition. And you did it well. Keep on good work.

Comment by Cheryl Lipham on January 25, 2013 at 11:21: Thanks for your comments Li! Yes, I had some issues with the piece. I always paint in an evolving manner. I change things as I go, days passing, going back and seeing things differently. But since it was for the workshop I had to hurry. That is not my style! Believe it or not, I've redesigned it, simplified it. I'll probably post that tomorrow maybe for everyone to see the currrent stage. Thanks again!

As I said earlier, it is not uncommon for me to repaint areas until I'm satisfied with them. Actually, I was never happy with the placement or choice I made with the tree to the left, but in haste to get it on site I quickly did something. I have removed the tree in front; tried to vary the shape of the tree to the right; and removed the tiny tree in the distance. I think I'll go with blending instead of adding a tree. Here goes nothing! ..after all, it is supposed to be fun!, adventuresome! ..that process called learning. Thanks for your help. I am never offended, my feelings are never hurt nor am I upset with constructive criticism...I know it is all positive!
