This painting has a very interesting composition. A romantic sunset with everything of a laguna such as Venice. Style is between abstract, impresionism and realsim. But it has color harmony, color perspective, strong and powerfull brushstrokes especially in the sky. In one world this is a well done painting.

Thanks to you all!!!!!!!! Ann, I'll try cropping the photo to study what happens with the land mass on the right (or maybe I just needed to redesing it or even put something else there - though it would be good to get in closer and simplify - thanks for pointing it out

Jon, this is really beautiful!  The light on the water sparkles in those reflections & adds a lot to the scene.  The masts in the distance are interesting under the sunset - lovely use of colour too!

beautiful.  So much to see here.. from the cozy little town in the back ground, the boats in the middleground and the sparkly water in the foreground. Blue and orange color harmony and delicate shapes...perfect

I like the sky and the way that you carried the light through the masts and onto the water. The same nice handling of light on the left buildings. I am bothered by the large land mass on the right The shape is a square with lump hanging on the side, cloned shapes at the land protrusions. I held my hand up and covered the area on the right of the red roofs, try it and see what you think with the dark shape gone.I like the contrast and use of shadow to move the viewer. This sense of light and shadow makes this painting a winner !

Hi, Laura - sounds good - thanks! - but I don't seem to follow a stable path - I never know what's going to happen next!
