Acrylic, 54 cm x 64 cm. The triangular bottle triggered me, and instead af the sombre background often seen in still life, I wanted to illustrate a nice, warm and light day.

Leif, your painting really showed a nice warm and light day. Good for you.  During the last workshop Susei told me to lower the chroma of my background so my setup can shine and standout better. I did. And the resout is obvious. Because I realized that if the background is as bright as the items in front of it. They compite with each other.

Aquavit!!  Yes, I saw that on the internet a few months ago when I was trying to find out what it was for a vintage punch I wanted to make for my Christmas Party.  I never found any here so I used strawberry vodka.  Hahahaha

Hello Patricia,¨thank you for commenting on my paintings. I agree, I have forgotten the shadow, but I have added it now.

Hi Stephanie, yes it is a gala apple, and the bottle is an Italian grappa bottle. Grappa is an aquavit made on the remains of the grapes when you have made wine. It is destilled and has the strength of whiskey,

Awesome bowl and apples.  Gala?  The bottle looks familiar, what was in it?

Lief,
I just checked your original set up picture.  There is a tiny dark shadow between the orange, leaf and underside of the bottle, which will give your leaf a better 3D effect if you choose to add it...  :))

I love your lively background too, and especially the light to dark effect.  Love the shadows in the silver bowl and the bottle definitely gives interest too.
