I'd like my brushwork to be even looser and will keep working on that. "Loose and accurate" is my current drawing/painting mantra!
Paolo, I agree with you about the shadows.
Sharon, I actually like the texture of the brush marks left by the oil primer and I guess it's mainly a personal preference, but I do think if my brushwork were as loose as I'd like it would balance out better. I tend to paint quite thin and in future I'll work on making some areas thicker and more buttery, then I think the underlying texture would work better and feel less dominating.

Painting is very nice, Dee.  I just don't care for the gesso on the canvas showing - not sure what made those marks, but I have done that in the past and not sanded the gesso enough.  Too much work for me, so now, I don't bother with gesso at all.

I agree with Matt, nice brushwork. If I can, I'd just make the shadows on the right hand side a bit less dark. Lovely painting Dee:)
