I'm thinking we'll knuckle down and do some still life with the emphasis on learning more about brushwork, form and colour. I've laid out a rough 4 month plan taking us from raw beginnings through to more advanced considerations. I'm hoping that will suit most of our members who are in the Northern Hemisphere's winter right now since they won't want to be getting out painting much. I really wanted to get everyone into a study of plein air painting but I guess I'll have to do that in the Autumn here, possibly.
OH, I definately agree with that. Can't wait to do the next workshop. Do we know what it will be of yet?
:-) Thanks very much Sharon. There are certainly plenty of things in things painting that could be done better (as always) and that could be one of them. I'm considering adding some large rocks in the foreground left at the moment because I liked that so much in some other paintings like Bob Mitchener's for example.
I love this painting, except for one thing I don't understand. Maybe because I wasn't in this workshop. But, why is the foreground tree blurred when it is so close to the viewer? I know it helps with the focal point of the beach and mid rocks, and also the spotlight effect, but, I personally think that the large tree in the front could be a little darker. :) There, a little critique! Hope you don't mind. BUT what a beautiful painting! Love all the colors!
Wow!:)
All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
:-) Thanks guys.
