Oststadt walk

25 cm x 25 cm, oil, plein air

Mannheim's Oststadt with its well-preserved art nouveau blocks and villas the preferred quarter for the establishment. Lots of really pretty corners, somewhat boring though.

Probably one should. Of course color gets better by doing more paintings, but it will always stay kind of arbitrary with complex subjects like this. I think i should go back into a phase of mainly blockstudies.

I copied the text from my blog. Simply don't know the new school word for establishment. Well, if it is vintage it fits - guess i am about to become a hippie ;)

Did you say, "The Establishment? " I haven't heard that term since the 1970's. WOW! I just took a trip down memory lane. (Did I mention that I was a hippie chick back in the day?) ;-)
