A little bit looser...I caught myself niggling at unnecessary details and stopped! My favourite bit is that little solo green grape : )

Great loose painterly approach Dee. The soft edges on the pear is a highlight along with the thick paint work.
Hi Karlo, well spotted! I hadn't made the link and will investigate further!
It is interesting the higher point view in your photos - even your portrait
Forgot to mention I used the same palette as Richard's demo.
Here's my setup. I warmed up the background considerably and made the red grapes a similar hue this time. My main focus was on speed, looseness and accuracy.
Thanks for all the great comments!
Denise, I value your critique, thank you for taking the time to do that. It's so very helpful, and I take your point about reflected lights and shadow colours. I felt I'd already exaggerated the colour and warmth quite a bit compared to the setup and wasn't sure how far to push it! I appreciate you daring me to go further : )
Hello Dee,
Another stunning superb painting. Love the way you keep the eye paths going around the most reflective bright surface of the jug. You have done a great job with edges-lost, hard, soft all that nice variation. You have a nice variety of loose brushwork also. The only thing missing for me would be in your the reflected lights, they could be a little more exaggerated and the translucency of the red grapes brightened up, with that you will find more red being cast into the shadows from the red grapes onto the white surface. Not to say I don't love the variety of warm and cool greys that you already have there. Did you have a photo of your setup?
Very nice painting ! I also like the solo grape. I think the pitcher white tones and the purple shadow of the grapes looks really good. I like the way the pear is lending forward. I want to try another one and I need to get looser to. You did GREAT !
Great !
Like ! Nice warm glow.
