These 'Amancay' flowers are very common in Patagonia, in forests near the Andes. They are beautiful and their colour really stands out. They are usually found in sky holes where they receive sun.

I saw these lovely flowers in Bariloche years ago & actually have a dried one in a scrapbook somewhere!  Glad you had the chance to see those amazing places recently - maybe you'll paint something from your visit?
