Another thought. What about putting a long side to side shape island to help the big expanse of water lay down?

This is a mountain just west of Little Rock - I took a picture of it from the interstate bridge as my son was driving me over it. The water is part of the Arkansas river where it curves around an island. You are right that it doesn't look realistic, but it doesn't in real life either... I have thought about changing it- losing the foreground water, and putting something else there, just for the reasons you mentioned... also, when it loaded up, about three inches of the painting didn't load - there's a lot more water in the foreground than this representation shows. I thought about loading it again - maybe I will...

Mountains and skys may just be your thing. This is beautiful. Your clouds are so realistic, and the distant atmospheric perspective gives the painting such great debth. I liked the irregular tree tops too. /// The land appears to be floating due to not having a dark enough shadow under it. With the amount of reflection showing of the mountain, maybe the tree hill could have more shadow in the water. It is also helpful if the edge of the lake is a bit more irregular and the more < > shapes you have will help the land "lay down" and go away from you. It is much more difficult to make a smooth curve lay down. I like this one a lot. Ro
