After doing the study, here is the real painting. Again, my birds are flat and I can't figure out how to make them 'round' or shaped. The tree's too dark but at that point I gave up on the whole thing. (I'm new at this and have no clue what I'm doing.)

just went to that page. thanks. Now I'm dizzy. why can't painting be easier? For painting shading on an apple, It would help to be a mechanical engineer or a theoretical physicist.

to you tube I go. Actually I just watched a guy named Maxim Grunin paint a huge painting and was blown away. He made it look soooo simple. But I know it isn't. Maybe I should just stick to the simple lesson you tube vids for now. I'm going to take some of Richard's courses. He covers everything.
learn how light reacts to subjects. There are tutorials on this on youtube.
