Thanks Pauline for your comments!  I really appreciate them.  It was a big job for me, but I really was please with the way it turned out. Happy painting!

Hey, it sounds like you started your painting about the same time I did.  I also started painting in 2008.  Landscapes were my interest.  I've been trying to find a style, but thought I should start out with basic representational first.  I look forward to seeing your daughter's painting.

Thank you, Cheryl. I am really proud of that painting, "Sisters". I took the photo, which I based my painting on, during a family picnic in Iceland. The photo of the painting is not that good, some photo I found on my PC, as the painting has been sold (to the parents of the sisters). I have not done many portraits but one can say that my painting career began when I asked my daughter to pose on the french riviera in the summer of 2008. Maybe I will post that painting tomorrow, just for completeness :)  And you should keep on painting figures, your first one is good.

Thank you very much for your nice comment, Guomundur.  If I can do this....anyone can. I really love the way your paintings are so expressive.  I especially love "Sisters". Your exquisite ability to capture the human figure is the greatest accomplishment one can achieve.  A rock is a rock, but a person's soul is revealed in a beautiful painting.  Thank you for your work!

Thanks, Jeni!  It was a challenge!  I'm glad you like it.  It's from a photo that my son took a couple of summers ago when he went down the Colorado.  He took some great pics...lots to choose from for my next series!  Thank you again.
