Oil on Canvas 24 x 18
I have dabbled with this whenever I've had a slight gap. It's been an interesting ride, and I will try and finish it this month. But for now... enough. Any comments?

Michael, have you read Gene Edwards books “The Chronicles of Heaven” Because in them there is a Recording Angel. If not, you should, you will enjoy them. They were out of print a while ago but are now available again.

It is a set of 5 Books, I assure you, you won’t be able to put them down until you have read every last one of them

Good to "see" you peeking in Michael. Growth is such a painful thing, leaving the past trying to envision the future and the path to it. Reclaiming life, keeping the good, learning from the regrets. Learning to accept the sometime senseless events that have carved into our hearts and lives. Wishing you blessed and contented days my friend. As someone said, the past is gone and the present is a gift. Many gifts ahead, believe it! Wow! See what your very deep paintings bring out?

Carolyn - Thanks for the really in-depth and considered response. I have very intense relationships with parts of this painting, a kind of cognition of what was going on, what I was trying to say. But to other parts I am in the dark. The tree is one such part. I'm not sure of what it represents, but I know what it 'feels' like inside me, and how it wants to change.

Sivana - so true... one sees what one wants to see, or in my case, something that you don't want to see, maybe out yourself, or your situation. All the things that you mentioned are there, but I did not intend that interpretation. But you are making me think about what's happening beneath the surface from a different perspective to the one I have.

Mel - Thanks for liking the painting. It's very personal, full of meaning and dissonance for me. Finishing it will be hard. It's like something you want to see completed, but it's also a part of the process I'm going through, so finishing it feels like heralding the end of the process. I'll try this weekend.

Very interesting painting Michael. I wonder what you wanted to show....

It's incredible how one looks at whatever with the sight of what one likes... I read the despair of a tree trying to grab its nutrients from what it can ... in this modern World, the only place it can get them is from the decomposition of the dead bodies below the graves. I wouldn't consider the Man being alive,... this corpse can't rest in peace, being the grave's guardian... and protecting it from the Natural flow of life...

Very happy to see that you really are getting some painting time.  This is a pretty deep subject, Michael. Those initials are tough to view. The painting itself is awesome...The Tree of Life on the right? Correct? Bare of leaves and branches cut off and being cut off? Without the promise of eternity it could be depressing...with that promise it is the cycle of life and death. I really like the way you've arranged the tree, both the way it frames and contrasts with the vivid buildings in the background as well as how it pointed it's remaining arms toward the Recording Angel. Good use of a simple palette and complimentary colors. Really like the glow/reflections that are starting to happen. Looking forward to seeing the finished painting. I would have to be working on a less serious concept at the same time, or this one would tow me under. Describes truth. Good work my friend.
