Hi John, great painting! Love the composition and the totally organic cloud shapes. The only thing I want to bring to your attention is the value of the oranges in the 'silver lining' of your clouds. All that rim lighting should be lighter than the shadow side of the cloud. If you view it in grayscale (see my picture) you can see some of the orange lights are darker than the shadow. Other than that I love it.

Hi, Nita - you can see the colors in the sail, but I think they should be less saturated - you're right - and more of a silhouette effect would probably look better - thanks! Jon
Hi, Rita! Thank you very much. These two paintings of sunsets were those sort of paintings where I got to a point where it was all going wrong, but I kept going, and they surprised me somewhat - come to think of it, most of my efforts seem to go through a "bad" stage (most of 'em don't recover from it either!) -
Lovely painting, beautiful sky. Love the rim of sunlight it has something magical.
