Only if I know. We help each other. Good luck, laura.
Laura, This is a wet on wet work I think. As I didn't know how to do it, I thought a lot and time past. But the next day when I worked on it again the paints were still wet as we have a 80% humidity at this season. It took me totally 8 hours to finish it. Next time I will be faster as I have got some experiences from this one. Also I should first plan what I would do and think well as much as I could before pick up brushes. It would save a lot of time for the painting procedure. I am too emotional. Hope you can avoid my mistake and do it better.
Thank you Chery for your positive evaluation. I appreciate it very much. Adreas, thank you too for your approval. Seems like I have a luck for this work. I found out, from this first try of painting a boat, something may be useful for people paint the similar scene. That is contrast: hard edges and bright colour of the boat against soft and grey background and water; warm light against cold shadow, And colour combination of the moving water I learned from our workshop14. I also managed to apply some big brushstrokes at the hill and water which I learned from all Richard's teaching and from some of our classmates whom can do it very well . I should thanks them for this good job.
Very nice indeed!
Very beautiful colors. Your first attempt at painting a boat is spot on! Great depth, shadowing and everything is just beautiful!
Thank you Hazel, Stuart,Laura and Jessica for your encouragement, especially as it is the first time for me to paint a boat. Yes. I am practising brush strokes. I realize that the more I do it the more fluentely it goes. Hazel, this is not for our workshop17. This is a practice of shallow water and perspectives and color skill I learned from our previous workshops. I will jump into workshop17 today. Thank you again for holding me keep on doing good job. And good luck for your work too.
Beautiful!
