Started blocking in the rocks, working through the backgrounds. Things get messy. I moved the horse down, reworking it so it was walking. Didn't like my rider, so I changed him, turning him to engage with the viewer. My values are out of whack. Lets see where this goes.

Good to see your "process" and that you are doing studies and evolving as you go. You've chosen a pretty complex subject here. The perspective of the horse and rider had to be a difficult one. Will be looking forward to seeing the finished painting. Fun (and a LOT of work wrestling with it, yes?)
Thanks Michael! I love the challenge of painting. It seems that everyday is a new learning curve. I still struggle with painting and there are many disasters much to my dismay.
Sara, thanks for the encouraging comments. I have got further with the painting now, and I'll hopefully finish it on the weekend. That twist... It might change as I work on the rider. I love your paintings, by the way :-)
Michael, I find your style very unique. I am a horse person and I think that you did a wonderful job of the horse. I almost like the distorted twist that the rider has. It kind of makes me unsettled which of course is interesting.
Thanks Vladimir. I am working on this so slowly. I am stuck in the detail at the moment. Trying to keep going.
Very good Mickael! Something unusual.
Thanks for the encouragement, Jim. Working on it now.
You're inventing this??? It's really good! Keep going! I really want to see this finished.
