This was a good learning painting. It got my thinking cooking like it should, particularly about relationships. Light to dark of objects and backgrounds. It reminded me of the "Windmill" principle.(See James Guerney's blog). As usual, though, my theoretical knowledge outdistances my practical knowledge, but it's exciting to know the possiblity exists that my paintings could this outstanding concept intuitively.

I really like your edges, and the fun variations of colors you used--especially in the water.  I also really like your boat!  You clearly painted the color/value shapes as you saw them.  I think a lot of people got tricked into painting what they know as a "boat shape" and many boats look very stiff!

Hi Nancy, you need to edit your tag to Workshop29. Right now yours is 29 which is wrong. So click Options and then click Add tag.
