Thanks Li, I have taken Jessicas advice and lightened up the upper part of the rock and I think it looks bettter. You are right about darkening the right side also. I will post the revisited painting later. Thanks again for your comments, they were very useful.

Ngaire, The atmosphere is excellent, foggy and a lot of air around the rock. I am also enjoy the shape you created for that small rock, very interesting and nicely placed with great value design.  I agree with Jessica about the value of the big rock. You may have to lighten  the upper part or darken the down part. If you do like to darken the down part, please darken the right side because this will make the small rock stand out more. Just for your references.

Really nice colour harmony & brushstrokes Ngaire & the water & your reflections are lovely .I am just wondering about your light source (the bottom of the rock facing us is mainly a lighter value than the top)  Maybe lighten the top of the rock a little so our eyes go there more??
