Acrylics 9.4 x 9.4 in. t This was tough work. Thought of taking my acrylics again, but realized that with oils it would have been easier...! Acrylics dry up sooo fast! Blending and softening IS complex with acrylics!
I'd appreciate any constructive comments!

Think you have done well with this.....I have struggled with acrylics and find oils a lot easier. Are just starting a new canvas following Richards advice, and it is looking hopeful, but as it is a large piece havnt blocked it all in and are now waiting for the clouds to dry before working down a bit more.

I like the clean, vibrant color and brush strokes. The  sky, wave forms, forground beach are well done Silvana!

LOL Carolyn!!! I think someday I'll try another one, but I am short of time until December... so I'll try to correct this one, or take note and try again in the near future! And Carolyn, it is just process...!!!! I have actually never thought of selling any... I am too occupied trying to learn now!

This is gorgeous, Silvana!

It wouldn't be considered archival, I'm sure. But it looks like you've covered your surface quite well with the acrylics and that should've sealed off the paper as good or better than acrylic gesso would. If it is important to keep it or sell it, maybe not. But if it is process, then I would do it. (Or another in oils if you can stand to do it!)

Thank you soooo much Carolyn for such a detailed suggestion! The picture is a bit brighter than the original, but I clearly see how it could be improved. I am seriousy considering in finishing it in oils. All the acrylics used have dried out, and it is quite complex to be able to get the same colours again...! I have painted this on special paper for acrylics. I have never painted in oils on this paper. I wonder if the acrylics make an impermeable underpainting for oils.... if not I am in serious trouble!

Silvana, it seems as though you handled the blending well but I do see what you mean about the wave line. The left "eye" side works, the right side has lost perspective (actually is higher rather than shorter as it moves away from the rock. Extend the base of the mountain; they are the same hue, then set the closest mountain back a bit by darkening it a little warmer, so it no longer blends into the wave. Be a little more subtle with the wave when you redo it. It is almost more energetic than the eye and crashing portion against the left side of the rock. I think I would warm up some of the blue on that side, sky area also. Think about the "greys" RR has been teaching us to use, to reduce chroma. Just a thought: oil over acrylic works well. You could easily restate areas you want by using this as an "underpainting". Not the entire canvas, just where you feel a change is in order. I like much of what you've accomplished! Looking forward to seeing your end result!

You are right Roena! Only thatI have no more place where to put paintings for them to dry! I was looking at this painting again, and I see the wave line looks rather awkward. Not sure how to correct that but I will try...!
